Italian Army Sleeping Bag
I also have a bunch of brand new Italian Army synthetic fill sleeping bags. Having tromped around everywhere from the jungle to the arctic, I will never again own/use a down sleeping bag. A good synthetic is the ONLY way to go. Down is worthless when wet, even damp.
This is a very nice bag that comes in it's own O.D. nylon compressor stuff sack. This bag has an O.D. nylon shell and liner, is rated for -9oC (about 40oF) and features a draft tube, a chest baffle and even a zippered pocket in the hood to stuff clothing in to serve as a pillow. It even has a little velcro pocket in the chest baffle to hide your wallet. I would consider this product a good middle spring to middle fall bag.
This bag will easily fit someone over six feet tall, the only downside being it has to be a slender guy, a woman or a teenager. I'm 5 foot 9 inches tall at 210 pounds (think chubby) and it is a bit snug for me. I would think someone my height and 160-170 pounds or 6 feet tall up to 200 pounds would be fine.
I feel this sleeping bag would also be great to use as an inner bag mated up inside of another bag to give some serious sub-zero protection. Kind of like the new Army Model 3 Sleep System, but at a much cheaper price. The weight of this bag including stuff sack is only 3 pounds.
This bag easily sells for around $59-$69 plus shipping. My price if you are interested is $49 and I pay shipping to the lower 48 states.
